Στιγμές αγωνίας έζησαν όσοι βρίσκονταν στο κρουαζιερόπλοιο Mein Schiff 3 της TUI Cruises, όταν συγκρούστηκε με το ελλιμενισμένο πλοίο μεταφοράς εμπορευματοκιβωτίων MSC Victorine, στο Μπρεμερχάβεν της Γερμανίας.
GERMANY: CRUISE SHIP CRASHES INTO CONTAINER VESSEL TUI Cruises’ 293-metre Mein Schiff 3 slammed into the docked container ship MSC Victorine in Bremerhaven on Sunday evening. Strong winds pushed the liner sideways despite tugboat assistance, reportedly tearing a 10-metre hole in the container ship’s hull. Several lifeboats were damaged. No injuries reported, but passengers’ 20-day voyage is now in chaos.

Βίντεο καταγράφουν τη στιγμή της σύγκρουσης, καθώς οι ισχυροί άνεμοι παρέσυραν το κρουαζιερόπλοιο, παρά τις προσπάθειες των ρυμουλκών να το συγκρατήσουν. Στο Mein Schiff 3 επέβαιναν περισσότεροι από 3.300 άνθρωποι. Δεν αναφέρθηκαν τραυματισμοί, ωστόσο προκλήθηκαν ζημιές στις σωσίβιες λέμβους του κρουαζιερόπλοιου. Στο ίδιο δημοσίευμα γίνεται λόγος για ρήγμα μήκους περίπου δέκα μέτρων στο κύτος του φορτηγού πλοίου.
Μετά το περιστατικό, ακυρώθηκε η προγραμματισμένη κρουαζιέρα προς τα Κανάρια Νησιά.
